Hope, Brightness, Progress, Contrast, and so much more...
My first visit to Cuba unexpectedly turned out to be a monumental week. It happened to be the week that then President Obama visited in March 2016, the first time a sitting US President had visited in almost 90 years (since Calvin Coolidge). The same week, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cuban National Team played with Obama in attendance. Later that week, the Rolling Stones held a free concert for the Cuban people! No images of which I have! But that's OK. By my observation, it was a week of contrast with an indescribable energy of hope and brightness and progress, against the backdrop the dilapidated buildings and the lives where people live with so little (from a "stuff" perspective). I look forward to the opportunity to return one day and interact with the people again.
